Springfield Clinic Prompt Care Celebrates 25 Years

Springfield Clinic Prompt Care, one of the area’s first walk-in medical treatment centers, is celebrating 25 years of operation.

In 1992, Springfield Clinic developed a health care delivery model that would provide high-quality, no-appointment, walk-in medical care. Prompt Care first opened its doors on March 2, of that year with two physicians on staff.

Prompt Care’s success is evident in its growth. Today, Springfield Clinic’s Prompt Care team includes 18 board-certified physicians and advanced practitioners, offering care at four locations in Springfield, Sherman and Jacksonville.

“We’re always looking for new avenues to better serve our patients,” said Stanley E. Allen, MD, chairman of the Prompt Care team. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for our patients, while still delivering the best medical care possible.”

Prompt Care at Springfield Clinic’s Main Campus East Building (1025 South 6th Street) is open from 8am until 8pm 365 days a year. Prompt Care West, located at Springfield Clinic Wabash (2200 Wabash Avenue), and Prompt Care Jacksonville (1000 West Morton Avenue, Jacksonville) are both open from 8am until 8pm every day except holidays. Prompt Care Sherman (400 St. John’s Drive, Sherman) is open from 8am-6pm excluding major holidays.

All locations are fully equipped with lab and x-ray services.
